Benson news

New Years night, Jason and Emily ( The new owners of Leo’s)  will have a New years Eve menu- served til 9, then you stop at the Saddle Creek bar for the end of The Linoma Mashers set, just in time for Rhythm Collective at 10:30pm. Bring in the New Year’s with us at the Saddle Creek.

Mick’s on Sunday afternoons is the hot place to be. The Roadhouse series brings regional and national acts- covering country music from all angles, the bluesy the profound, the lost and the found. Maybe there is a country scene in this town after all.

The Christmas lights look great this year, compliments of the Benson Commercial club, (check out the Christmas pictures on the Benson CC website-

www.bensonnebraska.com ) there were carriage rides, illuminations, carolers, mistletoe and sprigs of holly. A Merry Christmas blessing to each and every one!

In February I’ll feature the live music scene, so if you have a venue to add, or a place that is just starting, or if you just bought Cartiers. E-mail me gitrjoe@msn.com              www.joewatson.org

In March I’m going to feature musical stories of Benson’s past, the Lifticket, Sandy’s Escape, the bucket of blood (or bones, it could be bones.) The beer garden at Krug Park.
